To get the best out of your jewelry, it is important to treat it well. For this reason we recommend you to keep your jewels away from:
- Water
- Harsh chemicals and/or environments
(swimming pools, saunas, hot tubs or while bathing or showering); - Direct exposure to lotions, perfumes, hairspray, precious face oils, or other substances that might impact the surface of the metal and cause tarnishing & damage;
- Direct sunlight (unless being worn);
- Direct heat
MAINTENANCE
Remember that your jewellery is the last thing you put on and the first one you take off!
- Avoid impact with hard surfaces, which will scratch or wear down the plating or enamelling,
- Gently wipe jewellery clean with a soft cloth after each wear, the goal is to remove any oil, salt or acid contaminants and to dry the piece.
- Protect them and keep away from all sources of heat such as radiators and windows,
- Remove jewellery when doing household tasks,
- Remove all items of jewelry before exercise, working with machinery, or participating in sports,
- Thoroughly dry jewellery after exposure to water
- Store your jewelry in a jewelry box or other secure container
TIPS
Don’t wash dishes or do laundry with your jewelry on.
Many cleaning products that come in contact with your beautiful jewelry that can take o the nish. Why? Because of the harsh chemicals.
Don’t wear jewelry in pool, at the spa or at the seaside. Chlorinated and salted water can react with the metals found in jewelry causing your awesome ring to change color.
Don’t use specic jewelry cleaner. Cleaner made for pure silver, gold, or platinum is way too harsh for MANÙ MUNÁ® jewelry which is usually plated with these precious metals.
Don’t put on lotion or perfume with your jewelry on. For the same reasons listed above, lotionsand perfumes that are not 100% natural can react unfavourably with your jewelry. In particular hairspray and make-up usually contains harsh chemicals that can damage your beautiful jewelry.
By waiting until you are all done your beauty routine you can avoid potential damage. Put your jewelry on after you put your clothes on and before your take your clothes o. Doing this will ensure that your clothing doesn’t get caught on your sweater or t-shirt during the clothing removal process.
Remove your jewelry during activities. When performing mundane and fun tasks, such as playing sports, cooking, or gardening, remove your jewelry to prevent physical damage or exposure to cleaning chemicals or body uids.
Proper jewelry storage is often overlooked. Jewelry should never be tossed into a drawer or on top of a dresser.
Keep your jewelry in a fabric-lined jewelery case, or in a box with compartments and dividers. If you prefer to use ordinary boxes, wrap each piece in soft tissue paper.
